Naomi Watts

 

Naomi Ellen Watts was born 28 September 1968. Her film debut was in Australia in For Love Alone (1986) that was followed by three tv shows: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and Flirting (1991). Watts moved to America in the year 2000. She initially struggled as an actor. In actuality, she was only able to get small roles in films before becoming a aspiring actress in David Lynch's Mulholland Drive psychological thriller. The role was the catalyst for her rise to international fame. Watts was later chosen to play a journalist who was tortured in The Ring (2002). Her performance as a mother with grief in Alejandro's 21 Grams (2003) was nominated for an Academy Award. She continued to climb the ranks of popularity with performances in I Heart Huckabees (2004) and King Kong (2005) as in Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009). For her performance as Maria Bennett in the disaster film The Impossible (2012), Watts received another Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. In the 2010s, Watts was in films such as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) St. Vincent (2015), While We're Young (2016), The Glass Castle (2017) and Luce (2018). Watts was also a star in blockbuster films, starring in Divergent (2015)-2016.
